DESCRIPTION:As part of Traverse City Food and Wine’s Forest to Fork spring series\, Chateau Grand Traverse presents a rare\, seasonally driven exploration of morels and wine\, bringing together Old World tradition and New World terroir. This immersive experience invites guests to explore how classic European varietals are expressed across two worlds\, comparing iconic European wines alongside our estate-grown expressions from Old Mission Peninsula\, all through the lens of Northern Michigan’s most prized spring ingredient. \nThe experience begins with a guided walk through our vineyards and production spaces\, where we explore the influence of Lake Michigan\, glacial soils\, and the enduring impact of Old World viticulture on our approach. Inside the cellar\, guests taste through tank and barrel samples\, offering a rare look at wines in development and the decisions that shape structure\, balance\, and ageability. \nThe journey concludes in The Club Room\, an intimate\, private venue set within the foundation of our boutique Inn and accessed through a hidden bookcase passage. Here\, guests gather around a shared table for a seated\, comparative tasting featuring a curated flight of European and estate wines poured side by side. Each course is paired with thoughtfully prepared morel mushroom dishes by Executive Chef Keil\, showcasing the depth\, texture\, and fleeting nature of the spring harvest\, where conversation\, wine\, and food unfold together among new company. \nThis experience marks the inaugural launch of a new comparative wine program at Chateau Grand Traverse\, designed to deepen understanding of terroir through direct\, side by side tasting of European wines and estate-grown expressions\, setting a new standard for wine experiences on Old Mission Peninsula and across the Traverse City region. \nThis event is limited to 24 participants.
