Chateau Grand Traverse wines wines are vintage dated, premium quality red and white varietal wines produced from grapes grown in our Old Mission Peninsula Vineyards.
Gamay Noir has adapted well to the climate of Northern Michigan producing a lighter-bodied, aromatic, fruity red wine with distinct tart cherry, red plum and black pepper flavors. With four months of barrel aging, it is lighter than traditional red wines making a versatile wine for cheese and breads, grilled salmon, roasted duckling or wild mushroom pizza.

sdegraeve –
We just received this in our Wine Club Shipment and had it on Father’s Day with an Angus Strip Steak. Everything stated on the label is not only accurate – but my wife found that she enjoyed this more than the 2016 Gammay Noir Reserve. My daughter noticed the tart cherry taste more than us – whereas my son noticed the black pepper more prominently. Bottom line however – this wine, for those that enjoy a good Gammay Noir – will enjoy this Limited version. I personally will be buying more – and look forward to farther down the road when the Reserve bottles come out of the barrels!
